Yesterday, Grace started taking swimming classes at the YMCA. She loved it in years past and I'm hoping she enjoys it this time too. Here she is ready to hit the pool! She looks so old in this picture :(

Can ya hear me now?
Grace had her surgery this morning to get new tubes put in her ears. This is her 3rd set in 2 and half years so we are very familiar with the drill. Grace was a star patient and had all the nurses eating out of her hand. The surgery went well and she was home and back to herself a few hours later. She felt so great- that we managed to be at the park by noon after an 8am surgery. Rockstar is all I can say!
Gracie was so happy that everyone wanted to check on her to make sure she was feeling better. She got lots of phone calls, texts and emails from her family and friends. She even got some special presents.

Getting ready for surgery!
Playing on the Craftmatic adjustable bed- a real thrill!
The giggle medicine before she went off to surgery- she was hysterical!
Brownies from the love of her life, Connor.
Encouraging words before she went into surgery from Baby Michael.
You think I'm kidding??? She was playing at the park by noon today!

Like Father Like Daughter
We all know that Gracie loves the color pink, she loves playing with her dolls and she loves dressing up to be the star of the show. She can be such a girly-girl. But what you may not know about Gracie is that she really loves to play with her Daddy's trucks and toys! She goes crazy whenever Brian fires up the quad or brings home the skidloader for a job.
Last week, we went to Brian's yard where he keeps a lot of his trucks and large equipment. We wanted to get a recent picture of all the snow plow trucks for his landscaping website. Grace just loved every minute of it and always wants to be on whatever crazy thing Brian is operating. In the video below, she is in the Bobcat ( with Brian ) doing the controls all by herself. Its absolutely hysterical!

Happy Birthday Grandmom
Grandmom turned 51 again yesterday! We celebrated in style by having the fam over for some apps, pizza, cake and ice cream! The grandkids loved every minute of it. Grandmom looked especially snazzy in her birthday hat. The video below is cute as we all enjoyed singing Happy Birthday ( cha cha cha's and all ). Extra birthday gifts given to Grandmom this year were Jack Coyne getting especially close to the candle as he helped blow them out ( poor kid almost lost the top of his nose ). And Grace added to the fun by spitting some of her carrot onto the cake as she assisted in the candle blowing. Luke and Molly just went along with the craziness as usual. Happy Birthday Grandmom!

Ocean City
The Dougherty Family ventured to New Jersey today for a little family road trip. The purpose was to head down to the Atlantic City Convention Center for the Hardscaping Trade Show so we could get some ideas for the new patio Brian plans on building this spring. So we packed up the girls, the diaper bag and the double stroller ( thanks Eloise ) and headed down bright and early. Well, the show was a bust. We paid 50 bucks to get in and the whole "show" was about 4 aisles of salesmen and could be done by someone in a walker in about 15 minutes. We got our free shirts, or shall I say $50 shirts, and jumped back in the truck.
We decided the best way to turn our frowns upside down was to shoot over to good old Ocean City. We grabbed some Mack and Manco's for lunch ( Molly was a 1st timer ) and checked out the beach. The boardwalk was empty and cold so the girls weren't too impressed. Summer visits are way more fun!
On the way home we stopped by the 9th Street Mickey Dee's for some diaper changing and shamrock shakes. The end to pretty good day. But it got better! While pulling out of Ocean City, Gracie spilled the shamrock shake all over her jeans. Her response, "OHHH, DAMN IT!". Brian and I nearly peed our pants! It took all that was in us not to laugh. Well, we did laugh. Hard. But we waited to turn around and clean her up until we had gotten the smiles off our faces. Needless to say, I will be watching what I say more carefully now around Grace!

Family Fun Center
This weekend we took the girls to an indoor fun center with tons of fun things to do. The highlight- air hockey! Grace just loved it. We cant wait to go back again! PS- Molly DOES accompany us on these family outings. She's just so well behaved that we hate to wake her in the stroller. She'll make it into more pictures eventually- we hope!
