The Dougherty Girls: June 2011

The conversation I had with Grace last night was too cute not to share with everyone. It was bed time and Grace had already brushed her teeth, gone to the bathroom, had a story, and come up with 107 crazy different reasons why she should stay up longer. It was time for bed and I was laying with her in her big girl bed just talking trying to settle her down. This is how the convo went from there:

Grace: When I marry Connor someday I'm gonna wear a big white beautful dress like yours Mom. And high heels too.
Me: What made you think of that?
Grace: Nothing
Me: Do you wanna get married to Connor?
Grace: Yeah, he's my beeeeest friend. Mom, who is Wyatt gonna marry? Who is Michael gonna marry. How bout Jackie Coyne?
Me: I don't know Grace. Whoever they wanna marry.
Grace: When I get married Connor is gonna say Grace you are so beautiful. And I am gonna say no you are so beautiful. He's gonna wear a handsome dress. He is the prince and I am the princess. And then we are gonna sing my favorite song, 'Hail Mary, Full of Grace the Lord is with thee..." and then Connor's favorite song "Life is a highway...'
Me: Thats sounds really cool.
Grace: Can we have ice cream tomorrow?

And just like that she was done planning the Dougherty/Reynolds wedding of 2035 and wondering what she was gonna have as a treat the following day. I was cracking up.

For those of you who know Connor you know that he and Grace are the best of friends. They have been partners in crime since they met in the nursery of Lankenau Hospital when they were born 22 hours apart. Connors mom and I have been pushing an arranged marriage on them since day 1 so atleast they are listening. Here are some pics of the bride and groom. Its hard to believe these are just "some" of the hundreds of pictures we have of these two together. They really do everything together! We plan on using these pictures at the slide show of their rehearsal dinner in 25 years. I'm not kidding.
